Prince2 Practitioner


PRINCE2®, firmly established as the world’s most-practised method for project management, is globally recognized for delivering successful projects.

The real success of PRINCE2® lies in its compilation of proven best practices in project management taken from academics, business professionals, and consultants across the years. Since its creation, at least two million PRINCE2® exams have been sat in over 150 countries worldwide. This is a clear testament to the value of PRINCE2® to individuals all over the world.

PRINCE2® is practical and accessible and plays a vital role in ensuring that projects of any kind will lead to beneficial outcomes.

This workshop will provide participants with a solid understanding of the PRINCE2® method covering the principles, themes and processes. In addition, our goal is for every participant to attain PRINCE2® certification.


The target audience for this workshop is: Project Managers and aspiring Project Managers

Other key staff involved in the design, development and delivery of projects including Project Board members (e.g. sponsors) Team Managers Project Assurance, Project Support (e.g. Project and Programme Office personnel) and Operational line managers/staff. Participants should be Project Managers or Team Leaders or have had involvement in a project. They should have an understanding of project terminology or have completed a project management fundamentals course.

  • Prepare for and sit the Practitioner examination


Please note that no new PRINCE2® content is introduced in the PRINCE2® Practitioner workshop as it focuses on application of PRINCE2® in order to prepare candidates for the Practitioner examination.

Key concepts of projects and PRINCE2®
Definition of a project. What makes a project a PRINCE2® project. Features and benefits of PRINCE2®. The customer/supplier context

PRINCE2® Principles
Understanding and analysis of the PRINCE2® Principles. Explain which aspects of a project can be tailored, who is responsible and how tailoring decisions are made.

PRINCE2® Themes
Understand the PRINCE2® Themes and how they are applied throughout the project, including Business Case, Organization, Quality, Plans, Risk, Change and Progress.

PRINCE2 Processes
Understand the PRINCE2® Processes and how they are carried out throughout the project. Explain the purpose, objectives and context of the PRINCE2® processes. Apply and tailor relevant aspects of PRINCE2® in context.


A comprehensive participant handbook is provided for Practitioner workshop, along with the AXELOS publication Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® (2017).

The examination is a 150 minute (2 ½ hours) open book (Managing Successful Projects with PRINCE2® 2017 publication permitted – no other materials permitted) multiple choice examination. The pass mark is 38 out of 68 (55%). The Practitioner examination focuses on assessing whether a candidate can demonstrate sufficient ability to apply and tailor PRINCE2®.

Professional Development Units

Participants who have been awarded the Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)® by the Project Management Institute are eligible to earn 21 PDUs for their participation in foundation course (21 Technical); 14 PDUs for their participation in the practitioner course (14 Technical). Participants holding any of the Project Management accreditations (CPPP/CPPM/CPPD) are eligible to earn 15 CPDs per certification attained.

Participants joining a PRINCE2® Practitioner course will be issued with pre-course work at the end of the Foundation workshop to ensure adequate preparation for the Practitioner examination.

Expected pre-course Practitioner preparation time: minimum 4 hours.

LPS consultants are available following course completion to provide advice and guidance.
