COURSE OVERVIEW

The Foundation workshop is about providing an understanding of the:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the Agile Business Analyst role and responsibilities
  • Context to the role beyond the individual project, in relation to organisational mission and strategy
  • Additional depth, guidance and techniques for the Business Analyst role.

 

The guidance is based on the DSDM Agile Project Framework, an approach which defines the role of the project-based Business Analyst in relation to business, development and testing roles at all levels. However the guidance goes deeper, with many generic and popular agile techniques also included.

The workshop also includes review, consolidation of concepts and exam questions for the Foundation level certification.

AgileBA Foundation

The workshop helps participants to:

  • Lay the foundations for successful agile projects
  • Explain how the business analyst role and skills fit in an Agile environment
  • Clarify the different ways of working with the Agile BA during the phases of an Agile project
  • Outlines the lifecycle of an Agile requirement and how to write good, effective Agile requirements
  • Provide a comprehensive set of techniques and practices for effective business analysis and collaborative agile working.

The workshop includes the Foundation examination which consists of:

  • 50 Multiple choice questions
  • 50% pass mark (25/50)
  • 40 minutes duration
  • Closed book

The Foundation examination addresses knowledge of the terminology of the method and a high level understanding of the concepts. APMG International administers the AgileBA® Foundation examination scheme.

Professional Development Units

Participants who have been awarded the Project Management Professional Certification (PMP)® by the Project Management Institute are eligible to earn 21 PDUs for their participation in Foundation workshop (14 Technical, 3 Strategic and Business and 4 Leadership) and 7 PDUs for their participation in the Practitioner workshop (5 Technical, 1 Strategic and Business and 1 Leadership).

In order to derive the greatest benefit from participation in this workshop, participants should have an interest and/or role in the business analysis arena.
